Shunga takes its name from the Japanese tradition of erotic art, and the Canadian brand has spent more than two decades turning that idea into products for couples. The bottles are instantly recognisable, with a classical illustration on every label, and what’s inside is made for slowing down together.

The core of the range is the massage oils and candles. The oils come in a long list of scents, Exotic Fruits among the favourites; the massage candles melt into a warm oil you pour straight from the pot; and the warming oils heat gently when you blow on them. They’re easy to use, and you need very little.

Shunga is also known for its bath products, and for the gift sets that bundle several minis in one box.
